How these compare

Websites That Sell, an Australian agency, reports that its Sydney clients spend $3,710 plus GST a month on average, and that major-city and national campaigns run from $3,000 to over $10,000 plus GST. Impressive, another Australian agency, puts typical spending at $1,500 to $5,000 or more.

Zone 1 sits near the lower end of those ranges, Zone 2 below the Sydney average, and Zone 3 inside the national range. What each covers is explained on Sydney SEO, national SEO, local SEO and e-commerce SEO.

A month in each zone

ZoneUsual month
Inner HarbourOne shop, venue or small site: technical fixes specified and checked, the Business Profile kept accurate where eligible, a few key pages improved and a written report
Harbour and CoastGrowth beyond one location: everything in Inner Harbour, plus new category, location or guide pages and a review routine
Australia-wideNational reach: everything above for a larger catalogue or several locations, with a quarterly plan and feed checks for Shopping

The opening month carries the review findings and the first repairs, and is billed at the normal monthly rate.

Picking your zone

Inner Harbour fits a single shop or small site that needs its foundations set right. Harbour and Coast fits a business ready to grow, whether through a second location or more of the catalogue. Australia-wide fits national stores and groups. The free review normally points to one zone clearly, based on how far your customers travel and how many pages need work; when Inner Harbour is enough, that is what we recommend.

AUD, GST and notice

You pay one fixed amount in Australian dollars each month, and any GST appears as its own line on the invoice. Signing up for three, six or twelve months brings that amount down for as long as the commitment runs. Once a commitment is complete, a month's notice in writing from either of us ends the arrangement. The terms contain the full wording.

Changing zones

Opening a second shop or adding national delivery often means moving up a zone; that can take effect from the next invoice. Dropping to a smaller zone is normally timed to coincide with a commitment finishing. Tell us early when plans change, so the work can follow the business rather than the other way round; a quick note before a lease is signed is plenty.

A break over the holidays

Many Sydney businesses close or slow down between Christmas and late January. On a month-to-month plan you can pause over that stretch with notice; on a commitment, we shift the month to lighter tasks such as profile care and planning for the year ahead, so the fee still buys something useful.

Not in any zone

  • Promised rankings, traffic or sales
  • Help weakening or avoiding age assurance
  • Bought links or invented reviews
  • Work for escort or sexual services
